Verification on ChatOn Global is a way of confirming that an account is authentic and belongs to the person, brand, organization, or company it claims to represent. A verified account displays a blue checkmark badge next to the account name. This badge helps all users on the platform quickly identify genuine, trusted accounts and distinguish them from fan pages, parody accounts, or impersonators.
Verification is not a sign of importance or fame. It is simply a confirmation that the identity of an account has been reviewed and confirmed by the ChatOn Global team or has been earned through an active membership on the platform.
Why Does Verification Matter?
In a world where anyone can create an account using any name or photo, it can be difficult to know which accounts are real. Verified accounts solve this problem. When you see a blue checkmark next to a name on ChatOn Global, you can trust that the account is who it says it is. This builds confidence in the community, reduces confusion, and protects users from being misled by fake or impersonating profiles.
Verification also helps notable individuals, businesses, and organizations maintain a trustworthy presence on the platform and communicate directly and authentically with their audience.
How Can an Account Get Verified?
There are two main ways an account can become verified on ChatOn Global:
1. Through a Pro Membership Upgrade
When a user upgrades their account to a Pro membership on ChatOn Global through the Go Pro page, and their chosen membership plan includes a verification badge as a benefit, the blue checkmark is automatically added to their account. The month and year of verification are also recorded and displayed when anyone clicks or taps on the verified badge. This lets the community know when the account was verified and builds long-term trust.
2. Through Manual Review by the ChatOn Global Admin Team
The ChatOn Global administration team can also manually verify any account they determine meets the platform standards for verification. This is done on a case-by-case basis and may apply to public figures, journalists, content creators, businesses, brands, community leaders, or any account the team deems should be verified for the benefit of the community.
When manually verifying an account, the admin team records the month and year of verification, which is displayed publicly when the badge is clicked.
What is Company or Affiliate Verification?
In some cases, an account may be verified not just as an individual but as a representative or affiliate of an organization or company. This is called affiliate or company verification.
When a user is verified as an affiliate of a company, their profile displays both the blue verification checkmark and the logo of the company they are affiliated with. When any user taps or clicks on either the verification badge or the company logo, a panel appears showing the following information:
- A message confirming that the account is verified because it is an affiliate of the named company - The company logo - A clickable link to the company's profile or website - The month and year the account was verified - A link to learn more about verification
This type of verification is especially useful for employees of companies, brand representatives, official spokespersons, or affiliated accounts that operate under a larger organization.
What Does the Verification Badge Look Like?
The verification badge is a small blue checkmark icon that appears directly next to the account name. It appears on the user's profile page, in their posts on the public feed, in comments, and anywhere the account name is displayed across ChatOn Global.
If the account is an affiliate of a company, the company's logo will also appear next to the verification badge. The badge order on any profile is always: blue verification checkmark, then the company or affiliate logo if applicable, then any premium membership badge such as Star, Hot, Ultima, or VIP.
What Happens When You Click or Tap the Badge?
When any user taps or clicks the blue verification badge or the company logo on a profile, a panel slides up from the bottom of the screen showing detailed verification information. The information displayed depends on the type of verification:
For a standard verified account, the panel shows: - A confirmation that the account is verified - The month and year the account was verified - A Learn More link
For a company or affiliate verified account, the panel shows: - A confirmation that the account is verified because it is an affiliate of the named company - The company logo and name with a link to the company's profile or website - The month and year the account was verified - A Learn More link
Can a Verified Badge Be Removed?
Yes. The ChatOn Global admin team reserves the right to remove the verification badge from any account at any time. This may happen if the account violates the community guidelines, if the information used to verify the account is found to be false, if the account changes ownership or purpose, or if the verification was granted in error.
Users who upgrade to a Pro membership and receive a verification badge as part of their plan may also lose the badge if their membership expires or is cancelled, depending on the terms of the plan.
Can I Request Verification?
Currently, verification through the standard account settings is not directly available to all users by request. Verification is granted either automatically through eligible Pro membership plans or by the admin team during their own review process.
If you believe your account qualifies for verification and you have not received a badge, you may contact the ChatOn Global support team through the contact page and submit a request. The team will review your account and respond accordingly. Please note that submitting a request does not guarantee verification.
What Are the Standards for Verification?
To be considered for verification, an account generally needs to meet one or more of the following criteria:
- The account belongs to a real person, brand, business, or organization - The account is notable in its field, community, or industry - The account has a complete profile including a profile photo, cover photo, and bio - The account has not violated ChatOn Global community guidelines recently - The account represents a public figure, public interest entity, or organization that the community would benefit from having verified
Please note that these are general guidelines and the ChatOn Global team makes final decisions on a case-by-case basis.
Protecting the Integrity of Verification
ChatOn Global takes verification seriously. Any attempt to impersonate a verified account, to mislead users by falsely claiming to be verified, or to buy or sell verification badges outside of the official platform processes is strictly prohibited and may result in permanent suspension of the account.
The verification badge belongs to the account and cannot be transferred. If an account is found to be impersonating a verified individual or organization, it will be removed from the platform.
